Answer ringing payphones to start various missions, such as stealing specific cars, recovering hidden packages, or executing bank heists. You can explore on foot or hijack any vehicle on the street to get around faster. As you commit crimes or complete shady jobs, your police heat level rises, spawning aggressive cops that will chase and damage you. The run ends when you reach the money target to win, or your health drops to zero and you get busted.
Tips
- Smashing crates and hydrants with a car at high speeds earns you $175 per destroyed prop, which is a great way to make extra cash.
- If your heat gets too high, try to lay low and avoid police for 12 seconds without committing crimes to let your wanted level decay.
- Police cruisers deal 11 damage if they ram you while you are in a car, but a massive 18 damage if they hit you while on foot.

Your heat level decays automatically by half a star if you avoid committing crimes, destroying property, or engaging the police for 12 consecutive seconds. Keep driving safely.
What happens if my car hits a building?
Crashing into buildings, traffic, or other solid objects at high speeds will damage your health by 4 points and significantly slow down your vehicle.
How do I start a bank heist?
