More about this game
In Neon Pulse: Shadow Survival, your goal is to keep your neon orb alive as long as possible. The core loop involves dodging shadow enemies like chasers, splitters, and dashers while collecting energy cores. Gathering 10 cores lets you choose a mutation, such as a 9-second shield or a 14 percent dash cooldown reduction. The difficulty ramps up as time passes, increasing enemy speed and introducing pulse storms. A run ends instantly if your orb touches an enemy or hazard without a shield.
Tips
- Save your dash for emergencies; it has a base cooldown of 0.6 seconds and grants a brief 0.2-second window of invulnerability to pass through threats.
- Stay near the center of the arena to avoid getting trapped when the layout shifts every 10 seconds, as new walls and hazards can spawn on the edges.
- Skim closely past enemies to trigger a near miss. This builds your dodge streak and grants a 0.18-second cooldown before you can trigger another near miss.
Questions
How do I get upgrades?
You earn an upgrade choice every time you collect 10 energy cores. You can choose one of three random mutations, like a 20 percent score multiplier, a wider core magnet, or an 8 percent shadow slow field.
What happens when the arena shifts?
Every 10 seconds, the arena layout changes, spawning new walls and shadow crystal hazards. A yellow warning text will appear 1.25 seconds before the shift occurs so you can prepare.
How does the combo system work?
Collecting cores quickly builds your combo multiplier. The combo resets to zero if you do not collect another energy core within 2.45 seconds. Gathering cores also increases your score.
